What is resilience? How can it be supported ... even if one is experiencing the deep trauma that the protagonist experienced in Delia Owen's "Where the Crawdads Sing."  It is a book that shows how this young woman experienced trauma within her own family, by friends and even community.  This young woman's story is not unique - the symptoms of trauma may have unique aspects however they are universal at the same time.  This is also a story of great hope - and that healing is possible when feelings are shared in a safe space and validated.  

 I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a 5-year PhD from Yale University and I specialize in psychopharmacology and psychiatric diagnosis for both children and adults.  The ability to work, to go to school or to maintain relationships can be compromised by trauma or chronic psychiatric symptoms. 

 I specialize in treatment of trauma based symptoms as well as in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD for both children and adults.
